While with Evansville, Getz worked with 2006 and 2007 Missouri Valley Conference Libero of the Year, Julie Walroth, who ended her career with 2,095 digs, ranking 11th in NCAA history. In 2006, he also helped Evansville make its first MVC Tournament appearance since 2000.

Prior to Evansville, Getz spent one season at Morehead State where the Eagles finished in second place in the Ohio Valley Conference and ranked second in the nation in digs per game.

Getz was a contributing member for four years with Lewis volleyball. He helped lay the ground work for Lewis' 2003 national championship team, leading the Flyers to a 93-34 overall record during his tenure.

As a freshman at Lewis, Getz helped the
Flyers reach the Final Four, finishing with a 25-9 record. As a senior, Lewis finished 24-6 overall, but lost in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association semifinals. Getz capped his four-year career by totaling 252 kills, 130 digs and a .290 hitting percentage as a senior.

Getz came to Lewis as one of the nation's most-decorated high school players out of Rosary High School in St. Louis, Missouri. A three-time all-state selection, Getz was tabbed a "Fab 50" selection by Volleyball Monthly as a senior, and he captured All-America honors from USA Volleyball in 1997.

An outstanding student as well, Getz gra
